"We were getting our living room done which we was told would take 3 days. We wanted painting, wallpapering, window cill coverings and wall slats fitting. The work was supposed to be Thursday, Friday then finished Monday. I got asked if I would be okay with the work getting finished on the Saturday which was fine. We had the painting done the first 2 days then wallpapering was to be done on the Saturday, 30 minutes before he was due to arrive on Saturday we got told they can’t come until Monday. We had to get a joiner out to put the slats on the wall so we could get the living room back to some normality as we were living upstairs. Monday came and no one arrived, I was told this was a miscommunication. Tuesday came and the man wallpapered until 2:30 and said he had ran out of paste so would come back tomorrow. Even though there’s a taskers on my road & 3 pieces left! Wednesday came he arrived 1:30 hour late. He finished the job. It took 6 days to finish the work. Would not recommend."

Trader reply: "Thank you for your feedback as it's very important to us. We value your comments as customer service is our priority. As mentioned to you on that Saturday, our decorator who was coming to do both the wallpapering and the sills/panelling had injured his ankle. It wasn’t convenient for any of us, and I apologise for that now like I did on the day, however it was an unforeseen circumstance. I think it was quite evident that this was unforeseen by the fact that two of us stayed until 7pm that Friday prepping to make sure that everything was ready for wallpapering the following day. The plasterwork was loose and took a lot more prep time than expected but we stayed and got it done anyway when we could have left for the day and added a day on to the job. I offered to send two separate lads on the Monday (one to wallpaper and one to do the sills and panelling). Although, when the job was first agreed you were happy with a Monday finish, you said no to this and told me you’d now had the panelling done, that you had booked in a joiner to do the windowsills and now only needed us to wallpaper. I felt like this was an overreaction as the offer for us to complete the job on the Monday still stood. You refused to let us, therefore adding time on to your own job. The correct process would be for the wallpapering to be done after the windowsills are fitted, so I was a bit surprised when your partner asked why nobody had come on the Monday. We were waiting until your joiner had fitted the sills. When your partner said that she didn’t want to wait, I explained there had been a misunderstanding and offered a solution (to send someone that very same Monday afternoon) to get the job finished for you, to which she said no. So, I sent someone the next day. At this point the job was running into other jobs in our diary but as we had a commitment to your job, my decorator split his time to ensure it got finished. Any delays after Saturday were not down to us in any way. He also was not an hour and a half late that day, it was prearranged with your partner. The house was only worked on 3.5 days as opposed to the 3 initially quoted and it could have all been finished by Monday night had you let us. This is really not an excessive amount of time for a professional decorating job as I also think it’s worth noting that despite this review, you have told me you are happy with the finish. Admittedly we missed the Saturday (unintentionally) but the only reason the job wasn’t finished by Monday was because you wouldn’t allow it. Kind regards, KC Decorators."
