Flooring gets a hard time – it literally gets walked all over. At RB Floorlays we are experienced in all types of floor installation, helping your floor to stand up to even the toughest conditions.
Flooring needs to be appropriate for its room and use: businesses often need heavier duty flooring to withstand high levels of footfall; kitchens and bathrooms need water-resistant flooring and family homes need flooring that is a little more sympathetic towards tiny, grubby footprints.
I have over 30 years’ experience in fitting many types of flooring, from carpets to vinyl to wood. For the last 15 years i have focused mainly on LVT Amtico, Karndean and Nordikka. Sub floor preparation is of the utmost importance when even contemplating laying these types of flooring. Floors are assessed then given the correct preparation; dampness is always tested before proceeding as a general rule. I pride myself on the finest details, the work is intricate and requires enough time in producing the finish. The end result are floors that are down for many years to come with no if any maintenance required.
I can guide you through the process of choosing the correct floors that are best suited to different areas and be on hand to help you to get the balance between functionality, durability and aesthetics.
I offer a full range of floor installation and repair services including:-
- All types of lvt Installed
- Floor Sanding
- Floor Levelling
- Hardwood Flooring
- Laminate Flooring
- Wood Flooring Installation
- Wood Flooring Restoration
At RB Floorlays we do our best to accommodate the needs of each and every customer. If you require a service that is not listed above, please contact us; a member of our team will be happy to help you.

- Image 148 - First coat of self level compound put down to just cover the pipes and keep everything in place, this first application is just to secure everything in place,it's never good enough to lay a floor on top,the next coat will normally be good but may still require feather finish.

Mark - Image 1 "Rob replaced the Carpets and Kitchen Flooring on my Narrow Boat. His worked totally transformed the space, modernising it whilst at the same time keeping in tradition. Rob helped me with his opinions using his experience with the kitchen flooring. He was a great communicator, which was important to me. He was punctual for both the Survey and the Work and continued pushing for arguably a long day to ensure it got finished in a working day, which would have saved me money. I genuinely didn’t know Rob before engaging for this work but I can promise you my experience is that he is good at what he does, takes ownership of the work at hand, and is an all round good egg. I won’t hesitate to use him again either on the Boat or at the House and have already recommended him for doing the whole of the Ground Floor at my Daughters house in Worcester (which he is undertaking) Cheers Rob!"
Trader reply: "Many thanks Mark,I always like a challenge and yours was the first narrowboat I ever worked on so it was a good project, regards rob"

Christina - Image 1 "We asked Rob to lay a wood effect floor in our cottage and following his advice we chose LVT flooring in Sycamore. Rob did an extremely thorough job of preparing the floor first, taking care to remove all the old glue and grout etc before applying levelling solutions ready for the new boards. The boards went down very quickly and Rob's attention to detail is fantastic. We are delighted with the end result and would highly recommend Rob who was a delight to have in our home."
